The Bar

There are two bars, one on the ground floor and one in the cellar which provide two distinct environments.

In the winter a wood burner adds to a comfortable and cosy atmosphere. In the summer the terrace is an oasis of cool shadow with the city of Coimbra as background, lit by torches at night.

The music is varied (world music, nu-jazz, funky, blues).

The other activities (performances, live music, stories, rakú, etc) that take place are advertised with some prior notice.

You can find bar snacks (there are some wonderful cakes, teas with cookies and toasted sandwiches) and choose from a wide range of cocktails. Vegetarians can ask for a “bio snack” with whole bread and soy milk or a baked apple.

The young people working at the bar are professional and competent and keep the standards and their pleasant manner even when the bar is very busy.
